Steve’s artistic heritage includes painters and woodworkers. He draws inspiration from a wide variety of artists, including the Old Masters, American and European Impressionists, and modern painters. His work includes realistic figurative works, portraits, still life and creative compositions. Steve earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a minor in psychology. After working in psychology for three years, Steve pursued artistic training at The School of Representational Art. Today, he is an instructor at Pasadena City College and Art/Work/Place in South Pasadena; he also works with students privately in his studio. He lives with his wife and son in Pasadena, Calif.

What do you hope people will feel when they see your work?

Joy and wonder.

Where is your favorite place to go for inspiration?

I enjoy going to the mountains to find inspiration. And, while not a place, I become inspired when I listen to music.
